About Us

Our Company

Lux Performance Arts is a performance and training company based in Apex, North Carolina. In 2016, it all started with a vision of an elegant performance company merged with a state of the art teaching studio. Here at Lux, we bring you the highest quality teaching and the most breathtaking aerial and acrobatic performance in the Triangle area and beyond.

We Are Teachers

Lux Performance Arts offers lessons in aerial silks, lyra (aerial hoop), ground acrobatics, and more. All skill levels and fitness abilities are welcome here. We have a nice, open training facility complete with high ceilings and a tumbling floor.

It is our goal to provide a safe and nurturing learning and training environment, while also focusing on form, technique, and skill-building. This strategy helps students excel at their chosen performance art, prevent injury, and have fun.

We are Performers

We specialize in performance arts such as aerial silks, lyra (aerial hoop), and acrobatics. Armed with strength, artistry, grace, and skill, we are ready for your next event.

At Lux we aren't just amazing performers, we are also passionate about what we do. We strive to create high quality and professional aerial and acrobatic entertainment for our clients and ensure that every performance is an outstanding and memorable experience.

Ashley Weinberger

Ashley Weinberger discovered aerial dance in 2011 when she moved back to her hometown of Carrboro, NC. Ashley graduated from UNC-Greensboro in May of 2010 with a degree in design, and started taking aerial silks classes as a hobby. After spending eighteen month traveling around Southeast Asia connecting with people and learning new skills, she came back to North Carolina which is where she fell in love with Lyra, after only one class. She is excited to be passing on her passion, knowledge, and love for the aerial arts to new students.

Liz Thompson

Aerial Silks

Liz first became acquainted with aerial silks in the fall of 2013. She decided to try it because it looked like a fun way to exercise, and boy was she right! She fell in love instantly, drawn not only to the strength and skill building aspects but also to the beauty and flow of the art. Fast forward a few years and she is not only practicing at an advanced level, but she has performed at major events such as Raleigh's annual arts festival SparkCon and the International Festival. She is thrilled to be able to share her passion with others and help new students build a strong foundation. Liz completed the Level 1 Aerial Silks Teacher Training program with Paper Doll Militia in Bologna, Italy and is working on completing teaching certification through Born To Fly.
